So finally my degree and long time experience as a factory grunt have been recognized... sigh...

I've been holding on financially by the skin of my teeth for awhile, but I've largely kept it to myself. Literally there have been some months where I've only been in the green by the little leftover change I've had in my hand and that's pretty scary when you're renting your own place and there are people relying on you to pay bills. The only things keeping me afloat were the patrons who had me do commissions and, to my shame, theft.

Despite my practiced smile, and how I spoke earlier of the opportunity to tour several US Wizard Conventions with industry legend Kurt Lehner, I didn't mention how baffled I was as to how I was going to fund it. Yes, as you can imagine, this caused me great stress.

Frankly, however, I didn't care and figured the opportunity was too great; I would go into debt happily for this. But serendipity has struck it would seem because now I don't have to (you may have noticed I was speaking in the past tense :D ).

In the past I've spent months looking, but this time it took only two days! I've landed well paying work as a machinist for a large company. They honor my years of experience as a factory man, as well as my degree in psychology with added clerical and possible administrative duties. In essence, the solution has presented itself with impeccable timing.

One day I'll be able to work as a full-time professional artist, and I am still calling that it will happen this year! In the meantime, however, I will labor roughly with my hands to earn a living and keep moving forward. I've never been intelligent and my math is horrid, but I know I've got great hands and they'll get me through :).

--> Wish me luck.

---> ---> Good luck to all of us.

:hug: thanks. I've been guilty plenty of times of losing site before and putting other people's whims ahead of what I want, but not anymore.

btw, i gotta ask you later about that Polymer Clay stuff. sounds cool and different.
